An excerpt from the paper I’m writing:
“How was your summer?” Whether it is by classmates, professors, or family members, you will undoubtedly be asked this question countless times as you return to school in the fall. Most college students will casually reply, “good,” while flashbacking to crazy parties that reignited high school friendships, sleeping in past noon, and maybe even a smidge of romance. When I am asked this question, a range of adjectives immediately fills my brain: from fun and exciting to challenging and frustrating, but I join the majority and casually reply “good.” However, the truth is I had the best summer of my life: one that was filled with a plethora of unforgettable adventures, but also one that forced me out of my comfort zone and to grow in ways that I had not previously thought possible.
I know it’s a little melodramatic, but I think it’s cute (:
